Remember those tin doll assemblages I found last summer at the Bouckville Antique Show? Well, they were by local artist Betsy Wilbur. I found myself in Locke, NY yesterday, dropping Skyler off at a friend's house and I checked to see if the Red Herring was open. The Red Herring is an antique store/studio that is off the beaten path and not open all that often. I was thrilled to find it open and then it was nirvana to find that Betsy has been working like a crazy woman this winter to rebuild her stock of Tin Lizzy Dolls. She has over 250 in the shop! She isn't on the internet and she barely even gets on the computer at home, so the only place to find these magnificent creatures are at Brimfield, Bouckville and at her shop in Locke. Of course, you do know someone in the area (me) who might help you procure one if you are interested.
