Mini College Tour

Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland
First stop on our way to a tour of Midwest (OH & MI) schools for my son who is a junior in high school.
Our goal was to decide what size school was right for him. (And I realize that we could have done this within NY State, but he is set on going to college in the Midwest.) We visited Oberlin, Michigan State and Kenyon. I'm not sure what he decided, but Oberlin was a favorite.

A stop at Heavenly Metal in Ann Arbor, Michigan: I've been a fan of Heavenly Metal since I stumbled upon the store when searching for metal sculpture online. It was a real treat to shop in person and meet Vicki the owner. That is Vicki below on the right. I bought a new Baggalini backpack that was fantastic for the rest of the trip.

My favorite part of Michigan State: the Botanical Garden. The black squirrels were adorable. The specimen gardens were fun. They actually had Japanese Knotweed and Garlic Mustard growing in the gardens on purpose. Now that's living dangerously!

Kenyon College is lovely in full spring bloom. The stone buildings are amazing. Driving there was not pleasant...long, slow roads with not much to see...and no antique stores along the way. We are back home today and my apologies to those of you who have had orders delayed.
